My approach to applied ethics bridges rigorous philosophical practice with sociotechnical design, complexity thinking and empirically grounded approaches to organisational change. Taking a transdisciplinary approach, I lead organisations towards the development of safer, more reliable, more responsible and more valuable sociotechnical systems; systems that are worthy of trust.

I am currently leading AI Ethics for Services Australia. In this role I am responsible for conducting research (ecological impacts of AI, behavioural change practices to enhance ethical maturity, integrating different government frameworks into coherent practice), developing a unique impact mapping method, designing applied ethics guidance, leading AI ethics assessments, integrating and embedding ethics into multi-disciplinary teams / projects, developing training materials and ensuring staff and leaders gain hands on experience with diverse approaches to operationalising Australia’s 8 AI ethics principles.

I work on a contractual basis, typically for extended durations of >6 months. Although I’m open to shorter projects, I encourage clients to consider the complexity of meaningfully operationalising AI Ethics, which often leads to the mutual agreement of longer-term commitments.
